Who We Are
[Garage Truth] is an independent product testing and review website focused on automotive
aftermarket accessories — specifically fuel economy devices, OBD2 tools, and performance add-ons.
We are a small team of automotive enthusiasts, former mechanics, and data-driven researchers who got tired of
the hype and fake reviews flooding the internet.
Our mission is simple: Buy the products, test them ourselves, and tell you what actually works.
"We started this site because we wasted our own money on fuel saver devices that did nothing. After testing 11
different devices over 18 months, we found a few that do — and many that don't."
Our Testing Methodology
We don't just plug a device in and "feel" a difference. We use data.
Standard Test Protocol:
- Control period: 7-10 days of driving WITHOUT the device (baseline MPG)
- Calibration period: First 150-200 miles with the device
- Test period: 7-10 days of driving WITH the device
- Measurement tools: OBD2 data logger + manual pump calculations
- Variables controlled: Same gas station, same octane, similar weather
Our primary test vehicle is a 2017 Honda Civic LX (1.5L Turbo) with 89,000 miles.
